    The quartermaster maintained an office at the quartermaster warehouse, where he and two or three civilian clerks supervised the requisitioning and issuing of military supplies and equipment. The quartermaster’s authority extended to military clothing, bedding, tents, field gear, tools, transportation, and care of the buildings.

    In this office the Quartermaster Officer tracked all the supplies coming into and going out of the warehouse.
