Want to explore and learn more about the park on your own? Take a self-guided tour of the Ancestral Sites Trail or the Glorieta Battlefield Trail. The Ancestral Sites Trail is an easy 1.25 paved trail that circles around the pueblo and mission church ruins. The Glorieta Battlefield trail is a moderately strenuous unpaved trail that circles around the Glorieta Battlefield, a Civil War battle fought in the area in March of 1862. Trail guides are available at the visitor center for both trails.
