National parks and trails are America's greatest classrooms, telling our stories and conserving the best natural spaces the nation has to offer. National historic trails spread across the country, passing through urban and rural areas. You can look for trail sites in your community by using the interactive maps on the Santa Fe National Historic Trail website (see the links below).
The Santa Fe National Historic Trail's For Kids website contains activities that could be used in your classroom to supplement your curriculum or part of preparation for a trail site visit. You can also use this media tour as a virtual tour if your students can’t visit the trail.
